Hello guys! I realize that some of you want to play but hesitating because you don't have proper veterans and your avatar is low level and don't have that many time to invest to make proper veteran roster. So i got the solution for you to make things more even. There is a mod that helps upgrading your veterans to lvl 9 and you avatar with space speed. Basicly you play 1 battle against AI or a player and your veteran from 0-1 lvl gets to lvl 9 and you avatar gets a couple of levels as well.
If you need this mod just post a comment here with your e-mail and I will send it to you. Note that you won't be able to play against other players until the mod is on, only against AI and players with the same mod.
Now how to use the mod.
You copy the mod file and go to Steam - SteamApps- common- Total War SHOGUN 2 - data and insert it (to data folder). Then when you launch the game you will have the mod menu pop up and you select Upgrades mod. Then you play against AI. Unselect mod and delete it from the folder and thats it. You will have all your veterans and be able to play the game against other players.
If the method above doesn't work and mod even being selected doesn't do anything you can make it work the other way around. Go to C: - Users--AppData-Roaming-The Creative Assembly-Shogun2-scripts and open user.script.text file and type mod "upgrades.pack"; and it will work.
Short instruction of how to play against AI and get experience. (You can capture provinces with this method as well. Works for both sea and land).
Create the lobby. You in the left side. Open 1 player slot in the left side. Open 2 player slots in the right side. Delete 1 player slot in the right side and add AI. Launch the game. Note that the battle should last for at least 3 minutes to make it count and you should lose at least a couple of men in your units. If didn't work just repeat until it does.
Always have the backup copy of your avatar! Which is located in Steam - userdata- - 34330
