I live in San Francisco, United States but I was born and grew up in Russia. My occupation is software consulting.
When and what TW game did you play first? What brought you into Total War universe ?
I love history but I almost never played computer game when I was young. I started playing them when I become mature and could afford doing so whenever i want. I started playing TW in Feb, 2015 when vanilla Attila came out. I liked campaign a lot and played 4 months non-stop than I ran out of factions to play for. I bought Rome2 but campaign was really bad compared to Attila. That made me turn my head back to Attila … Attila multiplayer.
When did you start playing TW multiplayer and what TW game was it? Why ? Tell us about your first tournament if you remember it.
I started playing Attila multiplayer in June, 2015 but I did not know about existence of tournaments back then so mostly played in the lobby. Occasionally I met strong players from different clans that used those spaghetti lines and quick frontal rush tactic (if you know vanilla you know what i am talking about). I could not use spaghetti lines because i could not use debug camera due to my laptop with small screen. So I started searching for solution on how to beat spaghetti lines and frontal rushes. Being a software engineer I quickly discovered PackFileManager tool and started digging into game data files. And this was turning point of my MP career. I learned a lot about game mechanics that was not well known even by clan players. For example back then charge bonus was not as strong as it is now and cav killed infantry mainly with impact damage (this was first discovery) then I found how infantry bracing affects impact damage so I quickly figured that optimal depth of formation should be 4 rank deep after that flanking penalties are not compensated by increased bracing. I started using those 4 rank deep “boxes” of infantry as ice-breakers against enemy cav. Absolutely all players when they saw expensive infantry unit unprotected charged it with their spaghetti lined cav … but infantry did not die to their surprise and when they tried to pull cav out, it died because if it had to pull through with cav-soldiers that wrapped around my infantry. That is how I met my friends Help and Abbat. They both invited me to take part in vanilla-Attila round-robin tournament (Gladiators). That was my first tournament. Surprisingly for myself I won all my matches and after beating Abbat I made wrong conclusion that i can beat anyone. I did not have time to finish 2 matches and did not replay 1 game which I played with wrong faction so Trajan did not award me a banner. One of the matches which i did not play was match against C3NTVRION who won all his games too. After tournament he reached me out and proposed to play our match which would decide who actually takes 1st place. He won 3-1 and that was lika a cold shower for me and my ambitions but on another hand I realized that one can win not only with good micro and knowledge of game mechanic but also with use/change of different tactics during the battle.
What TW game in this era (R2, Attila, AoC) is your favorite for multiplayer and why ?
AoC. I can write a lot about this game. It is most balanced and polished game out of these 3 by a mile. It is balanced in all aspects of balancing: all tactics from rush to kiting are viable, all units are viable, all factions are viable. Game requires most simple set of rule you can imagine (4 same max + limit on horse archers). Battles in this game are more structured than

Он стал настролько хорош в игре, что он ему сатло скучно и насоздавал ботов, каждый со своим индивидуальным стилем. В каждом турирнире его боты похоже проходили до куда он хотел.

Возможно ты и прав. Я просто решил посмотреть на это с позитивной точки зрения Я не могу спорить о мотивах поступков других людей как о механники Рима2.
В любом случае он долгое время создавал конкуренцию Ираклису в Риме2 и меня его уровень игры всегда впечатлял. Считаю что с его уходом мир ТоталВар больше потерял чем приобрел.
тотал вар ничего не потерял с его уходом,если несчитать всех его махинаций с ботами и твинками на турнирах,а сами турниры бывали переполнены аккаунтами с которых он играл.помнится на первом турнире где тролли был админом одного из зеал клана спалили за ботство))) играл с 2х или 3х аккаунтов, так вот больше всего возмущались уже герои будущего скандального кона которые сами этим промышляли)))),а играл он хорошо базару нет,никто с етим не спорит.но ты не преувеличивай за разных ботов разными стилями он не играл,просто иногда с этих аккаунтов играли и настоящие их хозяева и играли они не плохо,хотя до уровня своего лидера им было далековато.
ну он действительно был неплох)) по крайне мере в Аттиле и Рим2 он всегда практически был в призерах) Но... сам виноват в итоге)) Сейчас сидит в КС играет)
хрен ли его все жалеют ? - учитывая всю грязь и помои что он вылил на ру-коммьюнити на всех площадках после того как спалился , да еще при поддержке своих соклановцев - которые не стесняясь в выражениях также поливали всех подряд....учитывая постоянное нытье по любому поводу ради победы любой ценой, львиной части представителей этого канувшего в небытие клана! - вот то же мне нашли оправдание этому задроту - если человек пардон за выражение ведет себя как "говно" - скилл не оправдание..

Вот ведь в топике про меня развели дискуссию про АК. Не посвященные ведь могут подумать что это я какой то клан опозрил и помои на РУ-ТоталВар коммунити выливал
