The idea with "pools" was cool, it was quite interesting for me to play on this tourney

Yes, pools + "CoN" style rules to make the factions balanced was good. Cuz u could still kind of counter-pick with pools if you had a matchup u liked (for example, taking pool 3 for a rush army if someone picked a faction that was weak to rush)-- but you were not guaranteed to win because of this counter pick. You basically got to pick the "style" of the matchup, but the balance of factions was relatively even
